Expert Care for Complex Health Concerns
When you need more than what a 15 minute appointment can offer. Kentucky Health Advocacy provides virtual tele health services for symptom investigation, chronic disease optimization, navigating the healthcare system and more.
Navigating Healthcare doesn’t have to be hard.
For patients with chronic health conditions, the healthcare system can be complex, overwhelming, and time consuming. Dealing with insurance, multiple health conditions, specialists at multiple locations, and electronic charts that never communicate with each other, are some of the frustrations I hear from people with chronic health conditions. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by multiple specialists and confused by medical information. For patients struggling with complex health issues, Kentucky Health Advocacy is here to make the healthcare system manageable. We handle the communication between specialists, we break down the confusing medical information, make sure your treatment aligns with evidence-based practice, and help you with details with insurance and billing.
If you are frustrated with doctors not listening to you and feeling like your symptoms are being brushed off at office visits, Kentucky Health Advocacy is here to help with that as well. As a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years of healthcare experience, I investigate these symptom complaints using a holistic approach. I take the time to do an extensive comprehensive health review to come up with a personalized health plan to help you find the answer. This may mean contacting specialists for you, looking into medication lists, environmental concerns, and prior illnesses.

How Kentucky Health Advocacy Can Help
Care Coordination Managing your health shouldn't feel like a second job. I work to make sure all the moving parts of your care — your providers, treatments, and follow-ups — are organized and working together so nothing falls through the cracks.
Healthcare Navigation The healthcare system can be confusing and overwhelming, especially when you're already dealing with a health issue. I help you understand your options, know the right questions to ask, and find the resources you need to get the care you deserve.
Symptom Investigation When something feels off but you're not getting clear answers, I help you dig deeper. I work with you to review your symptoms, research possible causes, and determine the best next steps to get to the bottom of what's going on.
Chronic Disease Optimization Living with a chronic condition doesn't mean you have to just get by. I help you take a closer look at your current treatment plan, identify gaps, and find ways to better manage your condition so you can feel your best day to day.
Insurance Navigation Insurance can be one of the biggest barriers to getting the care you need. I help you understand your coverage, work through denials and prior authorizations, and find lower-cost alternatives when your plan falls short.
Specialist Referrals Knowing you need a specialist is one thing — finding the right one is another. I help identify which type of specialist fits your situation, connect you with the right providers, and make sure you're prepared before you walk through the door.
Why Work With an FNP Patient Advocate?
When you work with a Family Nurse Practitioner as your patient advocate, you get something the traditional healthcare system rarely has time to offer — someone who is fully focused on you. Unlike a typical clinic visit, our time together is not rushed or limited, giving us the opportunity to thoroughly review your situation, ask the right questions, and develop a plan that actually fits your life. As an FNP, I bring clinical training and an evidence-based approach to every conversation, so the guidance you receive is grounded in real medical knowledge instead of guesswork. I operate completely independently from insurance companies and hospital systems, which means my only priority is your best interest, not a bottom line. And because I offer telehealth services, getting the support you need is as simple as showing up from the comfort of your own home.
How The Process Works
1. Schedule a Free Consultation The first step is a no-pressure conversation to get to know each other. We'll talk through your situation and I'll answer any questions you have so you can decide if working together feels like the right fit.
2. Share Your Concerns and Needs Once we move forward, you'll have dedicated time to walk me through everything — your health history, current challenges, and what you feel isn't being addressed. No detail is too small, and nothing gets rushed.
3. Receive a Personalized Plan Based on what you share, I'll put together a clear, actionable plan tailored specifically to your needs. You'll know exactly what steps we're taking, why we're taking them, and what to expect along the way.
4. Receive Ongoing Support Your health doesn't pause between appointments, and neither do I. I'm here to follow through on your plan, adjust as things change, and continue advocating for you every step of the way.
Need Care Today?
Not every health concern needs a full advocacy plan. If you're sick and can't get in to see your doctor, Kentucky Health Advocacy also offers same day virtual visits for common illnesses like sinus infections, UTIs, pink eye, flu, and more — just $100, no insurance needed.
Common Questions
What is an FNP patient advocate? An FNP patient advocate is a Family Nurse Practitioner who works directly for you, instead of a hospital or an insurance company. I help you understand your health situation, navigate the healthcare system, and make sure your voice is heard so you get the care you need and deserve.
Do you accept insurance? I do not accept insurance. Operating independently from insurance companies allows me to focus entirely on your needs without restrictions or outside influence on your care. My fees are straightforward and discussed upfront during your free consultation.
How do virtual appointments work? Virtual appointments are simple and convenient — all you need is a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access. At your scheduled time, you'll receive a secure link to join your telehealth session from wherever you are, no office visit or travel required.

About Jessica Rousseau, MSN, FNP-BC
Kentucky Health Advocacy, LLC was founded by board certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Jessica Rousseau. Jessica has almost 20 years of experience as both a registered nurse and a Family Nurse Practitioner, taking care of patients of all ages. Healthcare has always been a part of her life. Growing up with both parents in healthcare, she never questioned where her path would lead, only if it would be in medicine or nursing. She earned her BSN with honors from Samford University and began her career through a nurse residency at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, rotating through multiple critical care units before finding her home in the Surgical ICU. That foundation in a complex, high-acuity unit shaped everything that followed.
Life brought her to Baltimore, Maryland and then back home to Nashville, Tennessee, where she worked in post-anesthesia care units (PACU) at both locations. She went on to earn her MSN with honors from Belmont University, graduating as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Landing her dream job at a walk-in clinic felt like the job she had always been working toward. Caring for patients of all ages — children and adults alike — across both acute and chronic conditions was deeply fulfilling. Working independently meant there was no one else to turn to when a patient needed more than a prescription — it was on Jessica to find answers. That pushed her to become a go-getter, digging into community resources, finding lower-cost treatment alternatives, and working through insurance roadblocks on her patients' behalf. Seeing firsthand how much those extra steps impacted her patients' lives is what ignited her passion for advocacy. Every patient deserves someone fighting in their corner, and Jessica knew that was the work she was meant to do.
When she’s not connecting with patients, you’ll probably find Jessica planning her next family adventure, getting lost in a good book, or relaxing at home with her family and pets.
Jessica lives in Paducah, Kentucky, with her husband, three boys, and a small menagerie of pets.
